Born in Rosario, Argentina, in 1976, Gerardo Agnese is a dynamic musician specialized in bandoneon, also guitarist, deeply rooted in tango and Argentine music. A versatile instrumentalist, arranger, and composer, he collaborates on various musical projects encompassing tango, folk, pop-rock, and experimental electronic music. As well as music, Gerardo's creative exploration extends to theatre, film, and dance, showing a broad range of artistic expression.
His musical career includes studies on bandoneon under the guidance of maestros such as Domingo Federico at the School of Music of the National University of Rosario and Rodolfo "Cholo" Montironi at the Provincial School of the same city, as well studies of arrangements and orchestration with Javier Martínez Lo Re and Rodolfo Mederos on

He perfected his skills abroad, taking bandoneon lessons with the maestro Juan José Mosalini at the Conservatoire de Gennevilliers and composition lessons with the master Gustavo Beytelman in Paris. He obtained a master's degree in bandoneon and composition at the Codarts University of the Arts in Rotterdam (Netherlands).

Since his beginnings in Rosario, Gerardo has played a role in ensembles such as the IPPM Tango Orchestra, the National University Tango Orchestra, "Degrade" (rock band), "Filidoro's Wake quartet", "Quinteto Camandulaje" and " Trio de Tango Arrebatado".

In 2004, after several tours, he decided to settle in Europe (Italy, Germany, and currently in Brussels, Belgium), collaborating with various ensembles such as the Andorinha Sextet (Berlin), the Guardia Cadenera Orchestra (international project), and the Melting Point Quintet (Brussels), "Tango Tinto Ensemble" (international project), "TangoAbsynte" (Milan), "Rivermachine" (Berlin), "Quinteto Plastrum" (Brussels), and participating in dance and theatre productions such as "Voala Station" (Spain), "Surmundo Ensemble" (Amsterdam), "Proyecto Coincidencias" (Brussels), among many others.
